The role: Green Business and Operations Strategy Associate

As an Associate in Green Business and Operations Strategy, you’ll be responsible for defining and implementing the environmental strategy for Google’s global offices and employees. Google strives to have the most innovative and impactful environmental practices and is looking for a savvy and energetic professional to help achieve these goals. Sample projects include: building the strategic framework to guide Google’s investment in on-site renewable power generation, devising and implementing green benefits programs for employees, and identifying and executing on opportunities to improve energy efficiency. We measure our effectiveness by monitoring the concrete impact we have on the company’s environmental indicators.
Responsibilities

* Build consensus among cross-functional teams, and influence decision-making with senior-level audiences, to effect strategic corporate green initiatives.
* Measure and quantify results of existing and future environmental programs within Google.
* Develop compelling, insightful recommendations on strategic direction and specific project opportunities.
* Lead execution against recommendations, delivering results quickly and effectively.

Requirements:

* BA/BS degree in a technical field with a strong academic record preferred. (MBA or Master’s a plus).
* At least 2 years experience in clean technology, building systems, and/or energy infrastructure. Consulting experience a plus.
* Demonstrated knowledge of environmental & cleantech fields.
* Proven track record driving projects to completion in a challenging and dynamic environment.
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, modeling, and presentation skills; programming skills a plus.
* Sound business judgment with professional distinction in thought leadership and innovation.
* Solid communication and interpersonal skills; ability to be personable yet persistent.
